Omu’s (pronounced AH-moo) red stew is simmering on the stove, and its scrumptious scent is wafting out of her window. The delicious smell entices many community members: A little boy, Ms. police officer, Mr. hot dog vendor, a cab driver, a singer, a construction worker and even the mayor. Each time someone knocks on her door, she happily shares her stew… until the pot is empty.

Omu sits sniffling with her empty pot, until she hears a knock on the door. What happens next is a great lesson in sharing, generosity and an extra pinch of love. Author-illustrator Oge Mora  uses gorgeous cut-paper collages to celebrate people sharing and coming together.
