This classic book starts when a boy comes to a tree to eat her apples, swing from her branches and slide down her trunk. As the years pass, the tree helps the boy (now a man) by providing apples to sell. Later, the tree gives the boy her branches to build a house, and eventually, a boat.
The boy returns as an elderly man and she gives him a quiet place to sit and rest. The tree is happy again. Following a similar and repetitive pattern, the reader will understand how time progresses, how people change and how we can give without expectations.
This book is recommended for kids 4-5.
