There’s something wonderful about watching kids flip through a dictionary. It’s empowering - they’re solving a problem while learning vocabulary and self-sufficiency. It’s a quiet moment of academic independence.

A great kids dictionary is easy to use and engaging. It will supply an answer and encourage more exploration. We look for dictionaries that have age-appropriate words & information, easy to understand definitions and useful illustrations. Check out these titles below…

Merriam-Webster's Elementary Dictionary. This classic has over 36,000 words and phrases and 1,300 quotes from children's literature. Updated words include alternative energy, social media and STEM.
